30-something on the outside, 10 on the inside...

Went out to eat with some friends last night... the conversation at one point turned to the subject of how well I get along with kids. My friends all think it's extremely strange that I don't want to have any kids, but yet whenever I'm at somebody's house or somebody has brought kids along to wherever we are, the kids all love me and I play with them almost as if I was one of them myself.

So, comments? IS this actually a strange phenomenon? Do normal people either have kids themselves or else run screaming in the other direction upon catching sight of anyone under 15? Do other people avoid having kids because of a deep-seated hatred of board games, Legos, squirt guns, soccer balls, and pushing people on the swing?

It HAS given me a new excuse for why I don't have any -- "Obviously, I'm too immature to have kids! That's why I'm cheating your 11-year-old at Monopoly at this very moment!"
